a few years ago, i took a spiritual gifts inventory and it said that i had the gifts of teaching and pastoring. the book had descriptions of what each gift was and how one could use it. i flipped over to my gift’s page and read and this is what it said. (ok i can’t quote it exactly but i remember vividly…)it said that many women show to have the gift of pastoring. to explain how this could be possible, the author went on to say that it was most likely the result of a woman’s natural inclination to be a nurturer. he concluded that many women who think they have the gift of pastoring really don’t. they are just confusing their womanly instincts with the gift of pastoring. but to cover all his bases, he said that those who truly do have this gift could exercise it with children. the examples he gave where to be a den mother or a childcare worker.

thanks for posting this. i have asked this question often. why would God give me a gift and then stress me out trying to figure out when to use it? you are right in that men never even think about that aspect.
