The RSV assigns 'as in all the churches of the saints' as the beginning of the sentence in verse 34, not the end of verse 33. This phrase implies a universal practice across all churches, which contradicts the idea that it is a Corinthian slogan Paul is refuting. The word 'What' in the RSV (verse 36) does not carry all the weight Barr wants it to. Most translations agree in assigning 'as in all the churches of the saints' to the following section about women.
