People bypass the Bible using: (1) Life experience/storytelling ('I got saved under a woman preacher'); (2) Making a boogeyman ('egalitarians are worldly compromisers' or 'complementarians are oppressors'); (3) Using modern understanding of 'oppression' to let culture guide theology; (4) Patriarchalists calling complementarians 'weak egalitarians in disguise.'
