Let a woman learn: the revolutionary positive command

In the ancient world, many Jewish traditions discouraged or prohibited women from studying Torah. Paul's command that women should learn is a strong, positive affirmation — it is an imperative, not a suggestion. Mike argues this is actually a proto-egalitarian statement in some sense: women must be full participants in Christian education. The complementarian position does not restrict women from learning theology, reading Scripture, or engaging in deep study. It restricts only the specific elder/teaching authority role in the church.
