Craig Blomberg's nuanced view: 'ezer' means the one being helped bears primary responsibility -- Mike disagrees, citing Psalm 146:3-7 as a counter-example.
Blomberg's complementarian take on 'ezer'
Craig Blomberg (Two Views, pp. 129-130) argues that 'ezer' in every context means someone who aids the person bearing primary responsibility. Mike disagrees, citing Psalm 146:3-7 where God as 'ezer' executes justice for the oppressed -- but justice is the responsibility of princes/government, not the oppressed themselves. The oppressed aren't 'primarily responsible' for their own justice.
