Philip Payne's overreach: calling 'ezer' 'rescuer' and Eve 'man's savior' goes too far in the other direction.
Egalitarian overreach on 'ezer'
Philip Payne (pp. 44-45, 'Man and Woman, One in Christ') claims 'ezer' highlights the woman as 'the rescuer of man,' 'a strength corresponding to him,' and even 'man's savior.' Mike considers this excessive -- Payne elevates Eve almost above Adam in his interpretation, which is also not supported by the word's usage.
