Mike shares his personal experience studying both sides of the debate.
Mike expresses deep disappointment with egalitarian arguments. He had high expectations because many egalitarian scholars have done excellent work in other areas. He admits his own bias: he was raised in very feminist environments where being a 'typical man' was the biggest insult, and he lives in a liberal community where it would be easier to say the Bible is fully egalitarian. He was hoping for better arguments. He held off answering questions about this topic for years because he was 'afraid to be wrong' given how many brilliant, respected scholars held egalitarian positions. After exhaustive research, he found the egalitarian arguments wanting.
