Matthew 24:27-28: Lightning metaphor for visible return
Jesus describes the visibility of his coming
Matthew 24:27 compares the Son of Man's coming to lightning flashing from east to west. Lightning is instantly and universally visible. This metaphor directly contradicts any invisible or hidden return. Verse 28 ('where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather') further emphasizes the visibility and universality of the event.
