BSSM's goal: create cultural seeds — students trained to go back and transform other churches
Mike explains the deliberate strategy behind the school's design
The stated goal of BSSM is to train a student in Bethel's culture and practices, then send them out as a 'seed' who plants that culture in a new church elsewhere in the world. Mike notes that the things Bethel teaches are not things one learns from reading the Bible — they are learned by being immersed in an environment with extra-biblical practices. He draws a personal parallel to his time at Anaheim Vineyard as a teenager.
