The papyri date to the 2nd century BC — approximately 2,000 years after Abraham's time
Core finding from the Egyptological examination of the recovered papyri
When actual Egyptologists examined the recovered papyri, they found they date to the 2nd century BC — roughly 2,000 years after Abraham would have lived (if Abraham lived around 2000 BC). The papyri cannot possibly have been written by Abraham himself. This alone is a fatal problem for the LDS claim that Smith translated Abraham's own handwriting.
