Refutation of Short Scroll Theory: the facsimile images themselves, which Smith specifically interpreted, ARE on the surviving fragments
Mike's counter to the Short Scroll Theory
Mike refutes the Short Scroll Theory by pointing out that the very facsimile images Smith interpreted in detail — and which are printed in the canonized Book of Abraham — ARE on the surviving fragments. Smith did not merely translate text; he also interpreted specific numbered images and gave them precise meanings. Those images are on the fragments that have been recovered and studied. Therefore the surviving material IS what Smith was working with, not a separate lost section.
