Bad complementarian argument #2: Adam's sin was 'listening to his wife' -- Mike refutes this; the problem was the content (eating the fruit), not the act of listening to a woman.

Bad complementarian arguments

Some take Gen 3:17 ('because you listened to the voice of your wife') to mean Adam's error was listening to a woman at all, implying husbands should never listen to their wives. Mike calls this 'weird' and wrong. The problem is that Adam listened to Eve suggesting he eat the forbidden fruit -- not that he listened to her in general. The focus is on disobeying God, not on the station of the person he listened to. Neither Adam nor Eve listened to God.
