Book of Abraham (Pearl of Great Price), chapter 4: creation is described as 'the gods' organizing matter — explicitly polytheistic and not ex nihilo.
Mike reads from official Mormon scripture to demonstrate the polytheistic view of creation embedded in LDS canonical texts.
Book of Abraham 4:1ff repeatedly uses 'the gods' (plural) as the subject of creation: 'the gods organized and formed the heavens and the earth,' 'the spirit of the gods was brooding upon the face of the waters,' 'the gods said, Let there be light.' Mike notes Smith wrote this later in his career, by which point his polytheism was fully developed. The text is written to sound like the King James Bible.
