Greek 'theos' does not always refer to the God of Christian theology — it can mean any deity or powerful being
Extending the semantic range principle to 'God'
The theological definition of 'God' (Greek: theos) includes eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, holy, triune creator. But 'theos' at the dictionary level simply means 'a divine being' or 'one who is worshipped.' The full theological weight is not always present when the word is used.
