Preterism as one response to the 'failed prophet' problem
Mike introduces preterism as the main alternative to his own futurist interpretation, with no intent to attack preterists.
Full preterism: all biblical prophecy was fulfilled by AD 70 or thereabouts. Partial preterism: most prophecy was fulfilled in the first century, including a form of Christ's coming in judgment on Jerusalem in AD 70, but not the final bodily return. Mike acknowledges both camps as serious theological positions before explaining why he holds neither.
