Holding eschatological views with appropriate grip: core gospel vs. peripheral doctrines

Some doctrines are held with 'the grip of death' — the gospel (sin, need for Jesus, salvation by grace through faith). Others are held with more open hands — eschatology falls in the latter category. Mike is always open to revising his eschatological views and marks his hedges deliberately throughout the stream so listeners can distinguish confident claims from provisional opinions.
