Q&A: Division over the rapture — what to disagree about and why Christians shouldn't divide over it
Viewer Joshua Rivera asks about the extent of rapture disagreement.
Mike distinguishes two questions: (1) Is there a rapture-like event? He thinks 1 Thessalonians is clear there is — believers are transformed and caught up. (2) When does it happen (pre-trib, mid-trib, post-trib, etc.)? That is the contested question, and the justifications he's heard for different views are sometimes weak. He stresses Christians should not divide over eschatology. His model: hold the gospel with an iron grip; hold eschatological views with grace and openness.
