Q&A: Does the abomination of desolation require a rebuilt temple? Yes — based on Daniel 11-12
Viewer Martin Gradwell argues the temple is our bodies and thus no physical rebuild is required.
Mike acknowledges Christians are the temple of the Holy Spirit (individually and corporately). But he argues Daniel 11-12 describes sacrifices being performed and then stopped by the Antichrist, who then enters the temple and declares himself God. These require a literal physical temple. The body-as-temple interpretation would be spiritualizing a passage Mike thinks is deliberately literal. If Daniel 11-12 is already past, a future temple rebuild is unnecessary; if it's future, a rebuild is required. Mike holds the latter.
