1 Corinthians 16:2 shows early Christians gathering on the first day of the week; Kim claims this proves they went to work that day, not that they worshiped

The False Teachings and Lies of Joo-Cheol Kim (Pastor of the Church of God) 00:27:55 – 00:29:28

Mike cites 1 Corinthians 16:2 — 'on the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up' — as further evidence of Sunday gathering.

Kim's interpretation: 'setting aside money on Sunday proves they were working that day, not worshiping.' Mike calls this a forced reading. The obvious meaning: Paul does not want to arrive and make a collection — he wants the money set aside in advance so he is not put in the awkward position of asking for money when he arrives.
