Zechariah 9:9 — Ra claims it is not Messianic and requires Gentile conversion and expanded Israeli borders for fulfillment. The text contains none of those requirements.
Ra argues Christians misappropriate Jewish prophecy for Jesus.
Ra's specific claim: Zechariah 9:9 is a Jewish prophecy; rabbinical interpretation requires (a) Gentiles to receive Messiah and (b) borders of Israel to be enlarged as conditions of fulfillment; Jesus met neither because he was rejected by the rabbinical assembly. Winger reads the text aloud: 'Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion... behold your king is coming to you, righteous and having salvation, humble and mounted on a donkey.' There is no mention of Gentile conversion or expanded borders in Zechariah 9:9 itself. Ra's supposed 'rabbinical requirements' are not in the verse. Moreover, Ra simultaneously claims the passage is not Messianic at all while also saying its Messianic fulfillment requires Gentile acceptance — an internal contradiction.
