Why send missionaries if everyone already knows God? Sye: sufficient knowledge for condemnation is not sufficient knowledge for salvation — missionaries bring saving knowledge through the gospel

Does Presup Apologetics Have a Biblical Foundation? Mike Winger vs Sye Ten Bruggencate 01:38:08 – 01:39:40

Audience Q&A on unreached peoples and missionary purpose

Sye distinguishes two levels of knowledge: (1) natural knowledge of God through general revelation, sufficient for condemnation; (2) saving knowledge through the gospel of Jesus Christ, which requires a missionary. All Christians believe unreached peoples have enough knowledge to be condemned; that is why we send missionaries — not to give them information that removes their excuse (that would already exist), but to bring the gospel by which God saves. Sending missionaries to those without excuse actually increases their condemnation upon rejection.
