Philemon 1-2: church in Philemon's house does not make Apphia or Archippus leaders
Mike examines Keener's third reference.
In Philemon 1-2, Paul greets Philemon (male, 'beloved fellow worker'), Apphia ('our sister,' female), Archippus ('fellow soldier,' male), and 'the church in your house.' The 'your' is singular, referring to Philemon. Yet there's no indication Philemon himself is an elder or overseer -- he's a host who benefits the body. This further undermines the host-as-leader claim.
