Refutation of 'Romans never removed crucifixion victims': Josephus explicitly records that in Jerusalem, Jews were permitted by Romans to take down crucified bodies and bury them before sunset — directly supporting the Gospel burial account

Mike counters the 'no burial possible' claim with Josephus

In Jewish Wars Book 4, Section 317 (trans. William Whiston), Josephus writes that Jews in Jerusalem 'used to take so much care of the burial of men that they took down those that were condemned and crucified, and buried them before the going down of the sun.' The story context is mercenaries who violated this norm, which Josephus notes was abnormal and impious. This demonstrates that Romans made a specific exception in Jerusalem allowing Jews to bury crucifixion victims before sunset — exactly the scenario the Gospels describe. Jim's claim that bodies were always left to rot is simply wrong.
