Online 'Christmas is pagan' content relies on unverifiable sources — zeal without knowledge
Addressing the broader ecosystem of anti-Christmas teaching online
Much of the online content claiming Christmas is pagan (citing Tammuz, Nimrod, Semiramis) traces back to a sensationalist book written 40-50 years ago with no ancient sources — not actual primary documents. This content is inflammatory and won't die because it gives people the feeling of being rare insiders who know the truth about what other Christians are doing. Mike says he would happily condemn Christmas if legitimate evidence showed it violated God's glory, but the evidence simply isn't there. Romans 10:2 applies: zeal without knowledge.
