Thomas's rebuke was for ignoring available evidence, not for demanding evidence — modern believers have the same pre-appearance evidence
Mike draws the application of the Thomas story to contemporary Christian faith.
Before seeing the risen Christ, Thomas had: (1) the scriptures pointing to the Messiah's death and resurrection; (2) the testimony of the other apostles — people he knew and trusted — saying 'We saw Christ alive.' He discounted these. Modern Christians possess those same forms of evidence: messianic prophecy and historical/apostolic testimony for the resurrection. Mike ties this to his upcoming debate with Matt Dillahunty: 'We can present a strong historical evidentiary case for the resurrection of Jesus Christ.'
