The 'Whole' quality of the unborn — Bernard Nathanson (NARAL co-founder) confirms the embryo is a unified whole, self-directed, and distinct from the mother
Mike's explanation of the third quality of the unborn, backed by a prominent pro-choice source
Mike explains that 'whole' does not mean fully developed — an 8-year-old is not fully developed yet is fully a human being. 'Whole' means the embryo is a complete, self-contained individual unit of human life, not a part of the mother's body. Bernard Nathanson, co-founder of NARAL (one of the most influential abortion-advocacy groups, which seeks no abortion restrictions of any kind), is quoted: 'There is simply no doubt that even the early embryo is a human being. All its genetic coding and its features are indisputably human. As to being, there is no doubt that it exists, is alive, is self-directed and is not the same being as the mother and is therefore a unified whole.'
