Mike is inclined to think "ghosts" are evil spirits, not the spirits of dead people. The dead are unable to return — Jesus's parable of Lazarus and the rich man: the rich man could not go back to his family even though he wanted to. The popular "didn't go toward the light" narrative is movie mythology with no scriptural basis.
