2 Peter 1:12-14: Peter says he intends to remind readers of truth "as long as I am in this body" since he knows that "the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me." Mike notes even if one follows Bart Ehrman in arguing 2 Peter is pseudonymous (forged), the martyrdom of Peter is still implied, because the author wrote it that way due to Peter actually having died as a martyr — so the pseudonymity argument does not escape the historical conclusion.
