JD Flier defines faith as "belief in an ever-receding pocket of scientific ignorance" — the God-of-the-gaps argument
Examining another atheist definition of faith
JD Flier argued that faith is an appeal to ignorance: God is invoked only to explain what science has not yet discovered, and as science advances, the domain of faith shrinks. Mike rebuts this by pointing to his upcoming debate with Matt Dillahunty on the resurrection: the argument for the resurrection is an inference to the best explanation using historical and archaeological evidence, not a God-of-the-gaps appeal.
