If the slogan is presented as a universal truism governing how we evaluate all claims, then it is itself an extraordinary claim that requires extraordinary evidence to establish its truth. Since no such extraordinary evidence is offered for the claim "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence," it appears to refute itself. Mike finds the argument circular.
