Twitter response 5: Contemporary writings of life, death, resurrection with originals — we have near-contemporary documents, especially 1 Corinthians 15

Do Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence? Nah. 00:22:07 – 00:23:38

Fifth respondent example; Mike pivots to addressing 1 Corinthians 15 as key early evidence.

Respondent asked for contemporary writings. Mike: it is unreasonable to expect writings during Jesus's lifetime about his death and resurrection. But we do have very early documents close to the events. 1 Corinthians 15 in particular contains the death, burial, resurrection, and appearances, and places this creedal tradition within approximately 5 years of the crucifixion — making it near-contemporary or arguably contemporary.
