Problem 3: The slogan results in rejecting any claim you want — confirmation bias

Do Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence? Nah. 00:26:48 – 00:27:49

Third of five critiques of the slogan.

Because "extraordinary" is undefined, each person can label as extraordinary whatever they do not want to believe. Mike illustrates with the existence of God: a skeptic considers God's existence extraordinary; Mike considers it extraordinary that God would NOT exist. The slogan thus becomes a confirmation bias machine — it can be used to protect any prior belief from any challenge.
