Winger argues the gospel must remain the main thing. He uses a hypothetical: if Jesus healed every sick person in a town but never preached, the people still would not know what it means to receive him. Community service done instead of gospel proclamation, or relying on the Holy Spirit to communicate without preaching, is bad theology. Primary posture toward believers is discipleship; toward unbelievers is evangelism.
