Luke 8:1-3: Women traveled with Jesus like the apostles but were not apostles
Mike cites a key passage showing women's proximity to Jesus.
Luke 8:1-3 says Jesus went through every city and village preaching, and the twelve were with him, 'and certain women who had been healed — Mary Magdalene, Joanna wife of Chuza (Herod's steward), Susanna, and many others who provided for him from their substance.' These women were with Jesus like the apostles were, but they were not called apostles. Mike reads this as refuting Payne's claim that women could not travel with Jesus.
