Q&A: The Christian's primary cultural identity is the culture of Christ—follow Christ absolutely, adapt to culture in neutral matters

The Law of Moses, the Gentiles and Jesus: Hebrew Roots part 2 00:59:15 – 00:59:48

Pastoral guidance on Christianity and cultural identity

When a new believer comes from a culture hostile to Christ, their primary loyalty becomes the culture of Christ. They obey Christ absolutely. In neutral matters (dress style, food, language), they can adapt to their cultural context and "be all things to all people" (1 Cor. 9). Cultural practices become problematic only when they introduce sin. Jesus's principle: in the world but not of the world.
