The seven deacons chosen in Acts 6 all have Greek names; one (Nicholas) is explicitly a proselyte. The Jerusalem church remains predominantly Jewish.
Acts 6:5 analysis
Winger observes that even the one proselyte among the deacons was someone who had come under the law before coming to Christ. Jerusalem remains the Jewish center of the church.
