Mike explains that the concept of a special clerical priesthood arose from culture and church history, not from the NT or apostolic teaching.

Some complementarians create a de facto priesthood by saying husbands are the priests of their homes. Clerical priesthood exists in Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Anglicanism, Oriental Orthodox, and some Lutheran churches, but the English word 'priest' derives from Greek 'presbyter' (elder), not the actual Greek word for priest.
