Grenz: the NT parallel to Levitical priesthood is the church as a whole, not ordained leaders
Grenz argues that the priesthood of all believers means the parallel to OT priests is all Christians, not just clergy.
Grenz writes: 'The new testament portrayal of the church as a priesthood of believers implies that the parallel to the levitical priesthood is not the ordained office or leadership function but the church as a whole.' Therefore excluding women from the pastorate on the basis of an all-male OT priesthood is unwarranted.
