Slogan 3: "All religions teach basically the same thing" — superficial similarities mask fundamental contradictions

Stop Saying All Roads Lead to God! 00:23:57 – 00:27:02

Second major pluralist slogan addressed

Winger recommends asking two questions: "What do you mean by that?" and "How did you come to that conclusion?" Religions are superficially similar (worship, teachers, festivals, morals) but fundamentally different at the worldview level. On the Golden Rule: Jesus said "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" — an active, outward-reaching ethic; Buddha said "don't do to others what you don't want done to you" — a passive live-and-let-live ethic. These are meaningfully different. Frank Turek's approach of asking for clarification is endorsed.
