Part 4: Luke 18:15-16 — "Let the children come" has nothing to do with baptism

A Biblical Analysis of Infant Baptism 00:35:44 – 00:37:16

Winger addresses a verse sometimes used to support infant baptism.

Luke 18:15-16 — people brought infants to Jesus; Jesus blessed them and said the kingdom belongs to such as these, and we must receive the kingdom like a child. This verse is sometimes used to argue for infant baptism. Winger rejects this: the verse contains no mention of baptism, no water, no command to baptize. Jesus touches, blesses, and prays for the children. The lesson is about childlike faith and receptivity, not baptismal practice. MacArthur called this a "dry" text because no water is involved.
