God gives wisdom primarily through Scripture, secondarily through the word of wisdom gift and through other believers

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 2) 00:18:31 – 00:21:32

Q from Will Kozab about how God replies when you ask him for wisdom—does he send thoughts?

Mike identifies three primary channels: (1) Scripture, especially Proverbs—the main and most overlooked way God gives wisdom; people who read, meditate on, and apply Scripture receive wisdom from God even if it feels unspectacular. (2) The word of wisdom gift (1 Cor 12)—Mike believes the gifts of the Spirit are active today, though seemingly less frequent outside new gospel contexts; he describes receiving insight mid-prayer as an example of this gift. (3) Counsel from other Christians. He cautions against the hyper-charismatic abuse of claiming direct revelation without discernment.

@smashbaals Casting out demons isn’t Christianity? She does “declare” things which is an unbiblical teaching in charismatic circles, but how is casting out demons not Christian?
