Christians may use lethal force in self-defense but not premeditated violence; Christian pacifism is mistaken

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 5) 00:59:42 – 01:00:12

Applying the Luke 22:36 principle to the Christian ethics of self-defense

Martyrdom according to God's will should not be resisted, but general self-defense (protecting one's life or family in an attack) is permissible. Pre-planning to kill an intruder crosses into premeditated murder. Christian pacifism does more harm than good. Christians will generally be less violent than non-Christians while still defending themselves when needed.
