Christians are not required to tithe (give 10%), but are absolutely required to give generously
Opening question from Facebook: are Christians supposed to tithe?
Mike frames the question with two premises: (1) the heart posture should be "God, I will give whatever you want" and (2) the question is what Scripture actually commands. His short answer: the word "tithe" means ten percent, and the New Testament never commands Gentile Christians to give exactly 10%. But Christians are commanded to give generously.
