Conclusion on prophecy: it pushes back against banning women from public speech but does not support removing all eldership restrictions
Mike gives his balanced conclusion on the prophecy argument.
Women prophesying pushes back against the view that women cannot speak at all in public mixed-gender gatherings. But it does not give reason to reject restrictions regarding eldership or spiritual authority over the church. The restrictions on prophecy are specifically designed to prevent prophesying from turning into an elder-type role. Egalitarians go too far; many complementarians need correction for limiting women too much.
