Freedom from the law through Christ — justified by faith, law's penalty absorbed by Jesus
Completing the Galatians 3 explanation
Under the law, sin means death — the consequence creates a kind of captivity/imprisonment. Through Christ, believers are freed: Christ obeyed the law, fulfilled it, purchased forgiveness, and rose from the dead. Believers are now righteous as Christ is righteous. They are no longer under the law of sin and death.
