Mike's personal example: he served as youth pastor for 13 years and never functioned as senior pastor, yet his gifts were not limited
Mike uses his own ministry experience to show that gifts can be fully expressed outside the senior elder role.
Mike was ordained in 2006 and served as a youth pastor at the same church for 13 years. He only occasionally taught in the main sanctuary. In a Calvary Chapel context, only the senior pastor truly fills the full biblical elder role. Mike fulfilled maybe 70% of the elder role his whole ministry life but was perfectly happy and effective. This shows gifts can be expressed in many ways without holding the top authority position.
