"The Anointing" — biblical basis is real but the charismatic formulaic packaging of it is concerning

In the Old Testament, anointing was a real act (Saul, David anointed king; Jesus anointed by the Holy Spirit). Mike is open to the concept of being called and gifted for specific ministry. However, the contemporary charismatic tendency to formalize, package, and commercialize "the anointing" as a transferable, obtainable commodity concerns him. Spiritual gifts and callings are real; the branded "anointing" product is not.
