Parachute/airplane illustration: beliefs do not determine outcomes — reality is independent of belief

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 10) 00:03:47 – 00:06:20

Mike uses a vivid analogy to show relativism fails when applied to real-world consequences.

Three people jump from an airplane: one with a superman suit (believes he will fly), one with a spacesuit (believes he will go to space), one with a parachute (believes he will fall). Only the parachutist survives. The point: regardless of sincere belief, objective physical laws determine the outcome. Mike then applies this to eternal destinies: a non-believer, a jihadist Muslim, and a Christian trusting Christ all die — the outcome is determined by the objective reality of who God is, not by their beliefs.
