Genesis 1-11 allegorical interpretation does not necessarily violate John 5:44-47 or deny salvation
Responding to a question from Cat Chat about whether allegorical reading of Genesis 1-11 equals rejection of Christ per John 5
Mike reads John 5:44-47 where Jesus says those who reject him also rejected Moses because Moses wrote of him. The questioner assumes this means any wrong interpretation of Moses equals rejection of Christ. Mike rejects this syllogism -- it would make perfect Pentateuchal theology a prerequisite for salvation, cutting off anyone who misunderstands anything in the first five books. He affirms people can be wrong about creation and still be saved.
