Hebrews 2:17 — "made like his brothers in every respect" does not imply Jesus had a sinful nature or that humans are born innocent
Question from Troy Mulberry about Hebrews 2:17 and human nature at birth
"Every respect" cannot be pushed to its absolute maximum or it would undermine Christ's deity (Hebrews itself affirms His deity). Jesus was genuinely human — He was tempted. But Hebrews 4:15 also says He was tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin. Mike does not want to conclude that humans are born with an innocent nature. He distinguishes between guilt and nature: we may not be guilty at birth, but our nature has a bent toward temptation. Temptation itself is something Jesus shared with us.
